Former Reagan appointee (and George W. Bush’s
initial pick for Secretary of Labor) Linda Chavez is
president of the Center and her son David Gersten
is Executive Director. Another son, Rudy, is Director
of Operations. Abigail Thernstrom and Ron Unz
(author of the anti-bilingual Proposition 227 in
California) are on the Board of Directors. CEO
focuses its opposition to three social policy areas:
“racial preferences,” immigration and assimilation,
and multicultural education.
