http://www.ohioroundtable.org
A conservative, non-profit education and research
organization working to restore traditional “Judeo-
Christian” principles to public policy. Influential in
Ohio politics. Funded by the right-wing Lynde and
Harry Bradley Foundation. Has worked to prevent
the expansion of casinos in Ohio and the Ohio
Lottery. Anti-abortion, anti-homosexuality, proschool
choice. Founded www.thecommondefense.org
in the wake of the events of 9/11. This website was
created to encourage the responsible stewardship of
constitutional liberty and national defense. Supports
the U.S. finding sources of oil outside the Middle
East to prevent the necessity of conflict in that
region. Produces the Public Square Roundtable’s
daily news and commentary broadcast, hosted
by David Zanotti (President and CEO of Ohio
Roundtable). The radio commentary addresses such
issues as: school choice, gambling, and gay marriage.
Against additional federal laws in response to incidents
like Columbine, feeling that “what we need
is more hearts that are willing to keep the laws.”
Concerned about the danger posed by “judicial
activism.” Was especially opposed to the Hate
Crimes Bill which they felt infringed “on the ability
of Christian churches to obey God and speak against
the sin of homosexuality.”
